A wonderful place to get good comfort foods and service with a smile. Love the people, the food and the consistency. We went for Thanksgiving brunch and had a wonderful experience on what was sure to be a little overwhelming for the restaurant. They are top notch!

Had a nice variety of soul food. Also reminded me of mamma cooking. When I'm in town always have to get banana pudding to go. It's a all you can eat buffet at a reasonable price.

Friendly and welcoming staff even on a heavy feeding day like Mother's Day. Food was country cooked and I thank the cooks when they bring out the foods. The cooking staff keep the hot food hot and consistently refill the buffer bar. Today General MacArthur had fish, shrimp, his homemade BBQ and stew beef and rice. DELICIOUS. LIKE MY LATE MOTHER-IN-LAW (Rachel Benson) USED TO TELL ME, it is a holiday and a blessing any day she didn't have to scrape the plates, sweep the floors and wash dishes! General MacArthur 's staff remind me of that late great woman's comforting kitchen. Thank you.

We learned of this place from a friend who stops here on the way to the beach. We looked it up and decided to stop. It's a little off the Laurinburg exit, near St. Andrews University. An unpretentious place in the midst of farmland, it serves up a terrific buffet. This day featured such foods as fired chicken, fried fish, shrimp, chicken and gravy, cabbage, green beans, limas, collards, yams, corn bread, salad bar, banana pudding, strawberry shortcake, cobblers, ice cream bar...and for a special treat for some, fried fatback. I couldn't eat like this often but it does bring to mind my Mama's table.
